Holy Audacity: When Spiritual Virtues Become Business Liabilities

For the Christian woman building a business that honors God, there's a line we often hear in church culture that sounds holy — but might be hurting our business.

There's an old gospel song that contains the words:
"Lord, don't move my mountain, just give me the strength to climb……". This is not all what it says. Actually, it is a beautiful song for it’s time. I remember leaning into this song when I was younger.

To me, the lyrics subtly encourage endurance over empowerment—and contradict what God's Word teaches about spiritual authority and speaking in faith.

While well-intentioned, but I’m not asking the Lord to NOT move my mountain.  I want the Lord to smash that mountain like a pancake. Metaphorically speaking, “Lord, punch that mountain in the throat and take all the wind out of it.”

In Matthew 17:20, Jesus said: "If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."

And again in Mark 11:23: "If anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them."

These scriptures aren't about enduring trials—they're about declaring victory over them.

The power is in your mouth.

And yet, many faith-driven women like you are praying for strength to survive when God has given you authority to speak and shift.

Proverbs 18:21 reminds us, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof."

And I must add this one:

Jesus said that a man is not made unclean by what goes into his mouth, but by what comes out of it (Mt 15:11).

Your words — especially in prayer — shape your reality.

Prayer is not just a tool of submission, it is a weapon of strategy.

When you speak the promises of God with boldness and authority, Heaven responds. When you declare healing, provision, and favor, you align your reality with divine intention.

If you're praying prayers filled with hesitation, fear, or endurance-only language, STOP!!! You are breathing life into a mountain that God gave you the power to move. God isn't glorified by your survival—He's glorified by your victory.

When you pray, 'God, just help me get by this quarter,' instead of declaring, 'God, thank You for supernatural provision and clients who value what I bring,' you're shrinking your power. Speak as the CEO of a God-ordained business.

Faith isn't passive. It's active, bold, and aligned with Heaven's language. It doesn't just believe mountains can move. It commands them to move.

So the next time you pray, remember: the same tongue that confesses salvation can command success.

Speak like a daughter of the King—because you are.

This is holy audacity—believing that your prayers are not small whispers but kingdom declarations.
